Harbor Village Detox is a drug and alcohol treatment facility catering to victims of addiction nationwide. In response to North Jersey’s recent article, Harbor Village Detox comments on the necessity of drug prevention education in every state.

It’s important that we educate our youth younger than high school in order to have the most critical impact on their lives.

Substance abuse is a national issue that is attempting to be abated on the federal, state, and local levels. However, drug addiction is not so easily avoided without the necessary tools to combat substance use disorders. According to North Jersey on Feb. 3rd, high schoolers in Northern Highlands Regional High School will receive drug prevention seminars from a drug and alcohol education program called “Unguarded.” The article states that Chris Herren will offer students an in depth look into his own drug addiction to stave off the budding allure of drug use. Harbor Village Detox is an alcohol and drug treatment center, servicing the nation with inpatient medical detox services. The facility supports efforts to educate the populace about the addictive effects of drugs and alcohol.

A Harbor Village Detox associate said, “I think it’s important that we educate our youth younger than high school in order to have the most critical impact on their lives. In high school, and especially the upperclassmen, students have already begun to experiment with drugs and alcohol. As a nation we need to establish an effective plan of action for our elementary school children, so that their foundation is solid. Although, high school prevention programs are important, I think we are neglecting younger children; especially when we’re starting to see a growing trend of younger adolescents experiment with illicit substances.”

Regarding the program “Unguarded,” a medical associate from Harbor Village Detox said, “Whatever education in school our children are getting is great, but it’s really the responsibility of parents to really ingrain what drugs can do. It’s certainly more difficult for parents who are actually struggling with substance abuse, because children who grow up in that environment believe that their behavior is normal. And in those cases, the schools are instrumental in teaching children what is, and is not, acceptable, healthy behavior.”

The drug and alcohol treatment center, Harbor VIllage Detox, is governed by the principals of honesty, excellence, and quality service. Their facility is located in south Florida, and they provide their clients with a lush spa-like detoxification luxury clinic. The specialists at Harbor Village Detox are available 24/7 to cater to the immediate needs of their clients, and make sure to prescribe the correct medications to stave off the painful symptoms of withdrawal.
