As the global, standard-setting association and advocate for outsourcing professionals and the organizations they support, the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals® (IAOP®) annually produces the following research to help companies in their outsourcing decisions:
- The Global Outsourcing 100 – the annual listing of the world’s best outsourcing service providers – in its tenth year
- The World’s Best Outsourcing Advisors – the annual listing of the top outsourcing advisors and consultants – in its seventh year
The Global Outsourcing 100 and its sub-lists are essential references for companies seeking new and expanded relationships with the best companies in the industry. The lists include companies from around the world that provide the full spectrum of outsourcing services — not just information technology and business process outsourcing, but also facility services, real estate and capital asset management, manufacturing and logistics. They include not only today’s leaders, but tomorrow’s rising stars.
The World's Best Outsourcing Advisors is geared specifically to companies that are outstanding global outsourcing advisors and consultants. In addition to being part of The Global Outsourcing 100, the list of advisors highlights the top consultant, legal and related advisory firms globally, and is a valuable reference tool for companies needing expert advice and guidance with their outsourcing projects.
Companies of all sizes, from around the world and from across the entire outsourcing industry – information technology outsourcing, business process outsourcing, facility services, real estate, design, testing, manufacturing and logistics just to name a few – can apply for inclusion on these lists. IAOP Membership IS NOT REQUIRED nor is it considered in compiling the final lists.
To further help ensure participation by a broad cross-section of the industry, The Global Outsourcing 100 list includes both larger established global firms, referred to as ‘Leaders,’ as well as smaller, faster growing firms with less than $50 million per year in revenue and/or fewer than 5,000 employees, referred to as ‘Rising Stars.’ Companies are first organized by Leader or Rising Star criteria, and then evaluated based on the four judging categories. The final list is composed of the top 75 Leaders and top 25 Rising Stars. All advisors, regardless of size, are on a single list of the World's Best Outsourcing Advisors.
The on-line application mirrors that employed by top customers when considering potential outsourcing service providers and advisors. For 2015 four areas are being considered and judged:
1. Size and Growth as measured in revenue, employees, and global presence.
2. Delivery Excellence as demonstrated through the value being created at the company's top customers, industry recognition, and relevant organizational and individual professional certifications.
3. Programs for Innovation as demonstrated through specific programs and resulting outcomes that produce new forms of value for customers.
4. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as shown through corporate programs and outcomes that address such topics as community involvement and development, labor practices, human rights, fair operating practices, environmental impacts, consumer issues, and organizational governance (for Service Providers only for the Global Outsourcing 100 list).
Judging is based on a rigorous scoring methodology that includes an independent review by an panel of IAOP customer members with extensive experience in selecting outsourcing service providers and advisors for their organizations.
The aggregate scores from the areas above determine inclusion on the lists. All companies included on the list will have demonstrated their global excellence; half or full "stars" will be awarded for all companies distinguishing themselves in one or more judging category, with the highest rated of those receiving "full stars."

GOSRIA added value. All service provider applicants to the Global Outsourcing 100 program who complete the question about their CSR activities will be eligible for the IAOP/ISG Global Outsourcing Social Responsibility Impact Award (GOSRIA) as part of the GO100 program. The GOSRIA was established to recognize service provider excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. IAOP’s CSR Committee and ISG specifically seek to acknowledge the achievements of outsourcing service providers committed to a CSR program that fosters community involvement, fair operating and labor practices, respect for human rights, attention to environmental impacts and consumer issues, and good governance. The winning outsourcing service provider will receive peer and industry recognition at the IAOP Outsourcing World Summit held annually. A representative of the awardee will receive the award given jointly by ISG and a judge representing IAOP’s CSR subcommittee. ISG will contribute a monetary donation to the non-profit organization of the awardee’s choice in honor of the outstanding efforts of the winning service provider.
