Etymotic Brings New Earplugs to Hearing Conservation Conference
Elk Grove Village, IL (PRWEB) February 17, 2015 -- Etymotic Research, an innovator in hearing wellness solutions, will feature its new high-fidelity ER•20XS earplugs, along with an array of its industry-leading hearing protection products, this week at the 2015 National Hearing Conservation Association (NHCA) conference in New Orleans, LA. The new ER•20XS is the next generation of Etymotic's industry-leading ETY•Plugs® High-Fidelity Earplugs which have protected hundreds of thousands of ears since their introduction. The ER•20XS features a smaller, low profile, stem-less design and sits snugly in the outer ear, making them especially comfortable to wear under hats, helmets and other headgear.
The annual NHCA conference, now in its 40th year, begins on February 19th at the Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel. The meeting gives attendees an opportunity to learn about the latest research and tools for hearing conservation. Members of the association are audiologists, engineers, industrial hygienists, safety professionals and physicians and nurses devoted to the prevention of hearing loss. Etymotic will add the ER200 Personal Noise Dosimeter to a gift bag given to all new NHCA members, and distribute the new ER•20XS earplugs to all conference attendees.
The Association’s mission is to serve those working to prevent hearing loss due to noise and other environmental factors by providing professional development and encouraging research in noise and hearing conservation. NHCA disseminates information and provides a resource center, promotes the development of improved and more effective occupational hearing conservation programs, and participates in standards, regulatory, and legislative activities.
For a number of years, Etymotic has supported the NHCA Scholarship Foundation providing Student Research Awards and Student Conference Awards to graduate, post-doctoral and residency students, focusing on applied/practical studies in hearing loss prevention/hearing conservation. Etymotic has helped support a supplement of the International Journal of Audiology, which in cooperation with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), highlights research presented at the NHCA’s Annual Conference. Etymotic is a past recipient of the prestigious Safe-in-Sound Award for excellence and innovation in hearing loss prevention, jointly awarded by NHCA and NIOSH.
