ElliptiGO Inc., creators of the world’s first elliptical bicycle, celebrates the success of its athletes at the 2015 Cross Country Championships and New Balance Indoor Grand Prix this past weekend. Eleven ElliptiGO athletes achieved top-fifteen rankings in various categories at the USATF Cross Country Championships. In the Open Women 8 km category, Sara Hall placed 5th with a time of 28:26. Behind her followed Alisha Williams in 9th at 28:43, Brianne Nelson in 12th at 28:55, Christine Babcock in 13th at 29:06, and Meghan Peyton in 14th at 29:20. All five women are now be eligible for the athlete selection pool to represent TeamUSA at the World XC Championships on March 28, 2015. In the Masters Women’s 6 km (45-49) category, runner Darcy Arreola-Lange placed 9th at 26:33.
In the Open Men 12 km category, athlete Benjamin True ran 37:40 to place 11th. Ben is also now eligible to represent TeamUSA at the World XC Championships in late March. In the Masters Men’s 8km (45-49) race, ElliptiGO athletes swept up first and second places with Simon Gutierrez taking 1st at 27:00 and Rusty Snow following behind in 2nd at 27:34. For the Masters Men’s 8 km (50-54), runner Peter Magill received 3rd after running 29:05. ElliptiGO athlete Brian Pilcher took 2nd place, running 30:30 in the Men Masters Men’s 8 km (55-59).
On the other side of the country, at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix on Saturday, ElliptiGO athlete Sarah Brown, along with her TeamNB teammates, ran 10:42:57, breaking the World Record for the DMR (Distance Medley Relay - 1200/400/800/1600) by over 8 seconds.
