“Caity Lotz’s fans have seen her in action as the Black Canary in the TV series Arrow and movies like The Machine and The Pact, but now she will surprise everyone with her outstanding performance as Kirsten in the short film drama Missed Call,” says Venezuelan Director and Producer Susana Hornil. A life changing moment leads Kirsten to resort to her own imaginary world and social media and technology to avoid facing the heartbreaking truth about her relationship. Missed Call is heading the film festivals circuit this year.

Caity Lotz recently shared the website http://www.missedcallmovie.com on her Twitter account. Missed Call was beautifully shot by Cinematographer Carmen Cabana who also worked with Caity Lotz in The Pact II, and it is the first script for the Australian Writers Nicolas Spadaccini and Marcello Barbaro, pulling a delicate string on how technology is changing relationships these days. "We were originally envisioning an Aussie lead actress, but one meeting with Caity and we rewrote the part for her. You'll understand why when you see the appeal she brings to each nuance," says Susana.

Alvaro Segura and his Frenetic Lullabies did the music for Missed Call. Director Susana Hornil sings the haunting song of the teaser trailer and it is a cover of the song Where Are You, from the award winner and Venezuelan cult rock band Zapato 3, in which Alvaro is also the lead guitarist.

Susana Hornil is one of the promising young Latina filmmakers in Hollywood. She’s currently executive producing Michael Winterbottom’s The Face Of An Angel, with Kate Beckinsale, Daniel Brühl and Cara Delevingne. Her IMDB is already showing her first feature film thriller as Writer/Director, named Hearing Voices, currently in development by Hornil Brothers Productions.
