Berkeley Nucleonics - New Reach Back Spectrum Data Logs & Automatic App Update for SAM Isotope Identifiers
San Rafael, CA (PRWEB) February 23, 2015 -- Berkeley Nucleonics Corporation (BNC) has released an exciting new feature in the latest update to PeakAbout, the app for the SAM 945 Isotope Identifier. Reach-Back Emailing, a new reach back function available at the press of a softkey, allows users with a cellular plan or on a WiFi network to send a reachback report spectrum and data (including GPS location) x to a predefined command hub for immediate analysis. This new feature x enables non-technical users in the field to quickly collaborate with expert support for real-time analysis and disposition. Mitigating false alarms or confirming a manifest can be greatly simplified with second-line support.
Additionally, PeakAbout now includes a useful ‘Update Indicator’ to remind the user that a version update is available. This auto-updating of the app keeps libraries current and adds features or compatibility with 3rd party devices and software as available. This real-time roll out of version updates is an exciting advantage in the field as the Berkeley Nucleonics’ R&D team develops PeakAbout for a growing range of applications.
“RIID users are often asked to provide the background, known and subject spectra and data to a support contact in real time. This app update simplifies that request. All the user needs is the appropriate email address”, comments Allan Gonzalez, Product Manager for Radiation Detection.
