Action Ministries Hires ProviDyn to Provide Comprehensive IT Support, Management and Planning
(PRWEB) February 20, 2015 -- ProviDyn, a provider of IT support, strategy and services for small and medium-sized businesses and nonprofits, today announced it has taken over all IT services and management for Action Ministries, Inc., including IT support and long-term IT planning as well as vendor management of its telecommunications system and renegotiation of existing equipment contracts. Action Ministries initially selected ProviDyn to handle IT support after a contract with another vendor fell through at the last minute.
“When we hired ProviDyn, they jumped in, saying, ‘We know you are in a bind, and we will help you out, and then we will go back and work out the details,’” said Action Ministries Senior Vice President of External Affairs Rebecca Whicker. “ProviDyn got us out of a crisis situation and never blinked an eye. It is amazing how well it worked out. They’ve provided outstanding service ever since.”
For the project, ProviDyn initially performed a server evaluation and systems audit of Action Ministries’ technology installations, then facilitated the transition from the organization’s previous service provider to ProviDyn’s support framework. Working with Whicker and her team, ProviDyn also recommended and deployed numerous improvements, including new firewalls and a VPN (virtual private network) to facilitate internal and external collaboration. Additional upgrades to improve office productivity and maximize a limited budget are also in the works.
“Non-profits are often understaffed and budget challenged,” said ProviDyn President Hamish Davidson. “Our goal with these entities is twofold―to remove from their limited staff the burden of daily IT support and decision making and to help them make the most effective use of their resources over the long haul.”
Whicker was so pleased with ProviDyn’s initial effort that Action Ministries has hired the firm to handle vendor management services for its telecommunications. ProviDyn will also be managing its office technology procurement effort, including renegotiating the non-profit’s disparate contracts with copier, telephony and other technology-related providers to achieve the most cost-effective outcome.
“I made a leap of faith after one conversation with them. They saved my reputation and saved a lot of headache for the organization,” said Whicker. “More importantly for the long term, they feel like a partner and not just another vendor. They will be participating in our strategic planning process with our board.”
