Following his $20,000 donation to Women Veterans Interactive in December of 2014, Tyler Perry has shown his support for WVI once again
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) February 22, 2015 -- Recently, the lack of support shown for gender specific programs and services has stirred the morale accompanying the woman veteran community. At a time when the woman veteran community is seeking its vessel of restorative optimism – filmmaker, actor, director and screenwriter, Tyler Perry steps in to show his support for the women veterans. Following his $20,000 donation to Women Veterans Interactive in December of 2014 [1], Tyler Perry has shown his support for Women Veterans Interactive (WVI) and the woman veteran community once again.
On February 9, 2015, Mr. Perry opened up the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia to Women Veterans Interactive for an exclusive personal tour. In addition to the generosity of opening his studio, Mr. Perry instructed his staff to take "good care" of WVI. It's clear that he has a heart for women who have served and sacrificed for our country.
Prior to the tour’s start, all of the women were greeted by the studio manager. He provided a wonderful heartfelt welcome, complete with a HUGE THANK YOU for the service and sacrifice the women have made and continue to make for our country. He reminded them that it is because of their sacrifice that he is able to enjoy the freedoms of this country. (BRAVO!)
The afternoon was filled with plenty of walking, surprises, laughter and bonding. The extravagant tour included memorable opportunities: a chance to model the catwalk, exploration amid various movie sets, photograph opportunities, and concluded with each attendee receiving Tyler Perry Studio t-shirts and swag bags complemented by an autographed picture of Tyler Perry himself.
Subsequent the tour’s end, President of Women Veterans Interactive, Ginger Miller, provided a statement expressing her gratitude: “Sometimes it’s the smaller things that make the bigger impact. Kindness and generosity can go a long way. Women veterans want to know that America cares about who we are and the service and sacrifice we have made for this country and that’s exactly what Mr. Perry has done. He has shown us, not once, but twice that women veterans matter. I hope that more celebrities, corporations and organizations will take the time out to support women veterans. Tyler Perry is a class act!!!”
