The 2015 Chief Supply Chain Officer Strategy Report explores the next generation of supply chain management, taking the responses of global senior supply chain executives to form a benchmark for future strategy.

When conducting research for the 2015 Chief Supply Chain Officer Forum (June 16-18 in Chicago) eft surveyed senior supply chain executives on their supply chain concerns, priorities and thoughts on the future technologies that stand to affect their operational strategy.

The resulting report is split into two sections – section one explores the Current State of Supply Chain, focusing on how respondents are tackling their current supply chain issues, successful cost cutting methods and how they rate their own supply chain. Section two focuses on the Future Supply Chain, with respondents being asked to think about the possible impact of big data, the internet of things, omni-channel developments and 3D printing.

The report is free to download and can be accessed here:

Analysis Includes:

  • The Best Supply Chain Cost-Cutting Methods - improving internal efficiencies and improved forecasting were the most popular methods this year, while technology as a cost-cutting method has significantly reduced in effectiveness
  • The Role of the CSCO – the CSCO’s strategic position seems to be increasing, with over two thirds of respondents indicating that their CSCO sits on the executive board. 10% more now sit on the board compared to 2014
  • The Expected Impact of Big Data on SCM – over one third think that big data will have a significant impact on their supply chain, with executives’ confidence in the tool growing year on year

The report aims to give senior supply chain executives some guidance in terms of what challenges their global peers are facing, and how they’re positioning their companies for future growth.“This is a really exciting time for the industry in terms of the huge untapped potential offered by technological advancements,” comments eft’s CEO, Chris Saynor. He continues, “These advancements will truly shape the future of supply chain.”

The issues raised in this report will be discussed live at the Chief Supply Chain Officer Forum (June 16-18 in Chicago). Senior supply chain executives working for a retailer or a manufacturer can apply to attend the event with a complimentary pass.
