Cybersecurity Expert and President of ISSA Ira Winkler to Speak at ISSA-LA Seventh Annual Information Security Summit on Cybercrime Solutions
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 22, 2015 -- Ira Winkler, CISSP, president of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) ® and internationally acclaimed author of several books on information security, will be a featured speaker at the Los Angeles Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA-LA) Seventh Annual Information Security Summit on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The one-day Summit, The Growing Cyber Threat: Protect Your Business, highlights the financial impact cybercrime has on all organizations: business, not-for-profits, government agencies, schools, healthcare and others. The Summit advances ISSA-LA’s core belief that ‘It takes the village to secure the village’ SM.

Mr. Winkler has been named a “Modern Day James Bond” by CNN and other media. He is an author of several riveting, entertaining, and educational books, including Spies Among Us and Zen and the Art of Information Security. A columnist for ComputerWorld, he also writes for several other industry publications. He has been featured in magazines and newspapers, and he is a frequent TV commentator on cyber security.
Mr. Winkler began his career at the National Security Agency, where he served as an Intelligence and Computer Systems Analyst. He moved on to support other US and overseas government military and intelligence agencies. Currently, in addition to being ISSA President, he is President of the Internet Security Advisors Group and a Director on the ISSA International Board, chairing the Strategic Alliances Committee. He consults to some of the largest corporations in the world, providing strategic consulting services, such as CISO trusted advisor services, high visibility security assessment services, and awareness training. He has also served on the Graduate and Undergraduate faculties of The Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland.
