LAT Registry, a partnership between NIC México (Network Information Center México) and eCOM-LAC (Latin American and Caribbean Federation for Internet and Electronic Commerce) has joined the Hispanic Chamber of E-Commerce as a corporate sponsor to support HISCEC’s efforts to provide new tools that can help businesses interested in reaching out the Latino market in a more meaningful and strategic way.

The Hispanic Chamber of E-Commerce, the premier organization promoting the use of the Internet as a business tool to help Hispanic family owned businesses to become more competitive in the marketplace, is honored to announce .LAT Registry as its new corporate sponsor. The Hispanic Chamber of E-Commerce and .LAT Registry are going to work together to support the marketing efforts of businesses interested in reaching out Latinos on the Internet.

As part of the partnership, both organizations have agreed to launch the “TODOS LAT” campaign. A campaign focused on promoting the new .LAT domain as the best gTLD for organizations, causes and Latin projects on the internet, offering Internet presence with Latin Identity: High recognition label, stands-out from the rest of the Internet and promotes the Latin pride.

.LAT domain registration, an extension that will identify Latinos on the Internet, has started today.

This new domain is starting its Sunrise phase, during which trademark holders are given the opportunity to request the registration of the .LAT domain that matches with their brand before the .LAT is open to the public. To be able to participate during Sunrise, it is necessary to register the brand at the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH).

The Sunrise process will run for 60 days, starting February 16 and ending on April 16, 2015.

Once you complete the TMCH registration, .LAT domain names can be registered through any of the .LAT Accredited Registrars.
