University of Buffalo to leverage KeepTree’s video sharing platform to improve alumni outreach and increase support.

“As a UB alum myself, I am proud to launch the first version of this program at my alma mater.” says Founder and CEO of KeepTree, Inc., Jon Loew.

Today KeepTree, Inc. announced it has launched a partnership with the The College of Arts and Sciences at the University at Buffalo (“UB”), the largest school at UB. The College will utilize KeepTree’s private video platform to launch several programs aimed at reaching out to alumni both to maintain a personal connection with the university and increase alumni support. The initiative will launch at UB’s second annual TAG Week (“Think About Giving”) February 23-26, 2015 – designed to educate students about philanthropy and alumni support.

The first initiative they will launch is the “Alumni Appreciation” video program. This will allow UB students and members of its alumni engagement staff to send standard or personalized thank you videos to alumni and friends. Alumni who donate to a specific scholarship fund will be able to hear directly from the students who benefit from their contribution – and see and hear the genuine gratitude that can only be expressed fully through video.

The partnership will also support the new UB “Footprints Around the Globe” initiative. Using KeepTree’s video technology, the university will be able to display the imprint that their alumni have all over the world. Alumni will be able to record or upload videos of themselves and their communities to be displayed on a public video archive, which will then be shared with the entire UB community.

The homepage hosting the program can be found at http://www.keeptree.com/UB.

“As a UB alum myself, I am proud to launch the first version of this program at my alma mater.” says Founder and CEO of KeepTree, Inc., Jon Loew. “The reason I started KeepTree was to maintain personal connections between people over time, the same way that I still feel connected to UB. Not only does this program do that for my fellow alumni around the world, but it’s also a practical way for the University to increase its alumni support.”

As the largest and most diverse academic unit at UB, the College of Arts and Sciences is home to some 15,000 undergraduate and graduate students and nearly 475 faculty. With 25 departments and 16 academic programs, more than 23 centers and institutes, two significant art galleries and major theater and music performance venues, the College touches all students and is the locus of the liberal arts education at UB. There are more than 230,000 UB alumni living in 120 countries, nearly 95,000 are from the College.

UB will be able to leverage KeepTree’s technology to provide a single secure and private solution for their video sharing needs. The solution will be branded and controlled by the College. UB will now be able to seamlessly leverage the power of video communication and create a growing video archive that can be utilized for any number of initiatives in the future.

“We are very excited about this opportunity to collaborate with KeepTree,” says Thomas McArthur, Director of Constituent and Alumni Engagement in the College of Arts & Sciences of University at Buffalo. “UB has always been at the forefront of emerging technologies, and this video communication initiative will further connect UB with its alumni around the globe.”

KeepTree envisions universities, organizations and businesses around the world leveraging its technology for not only communication but also recruitment, training, and numerous other important marketing and operational functions.
