Sean Kernan, author of seven books, university lecturer on creativity, successful commercial photographer, and international exhibitor will join Jock Montgomery, owner of Compass Rose Expeditions and adventure travel guide, to offer a photography tour and creative workshop in the Buddhist Kingdom of Bhutan during November 2015.
Sean Kernan has made a career out of seeing the world in new ways, including photographic interpretations of the great Argentine writer Borges, lyric ways of exploring stands of trees, the boxing cult of Kampala, and the bullets of Northern Ireland. Sean uses a variety of creative techniques, including kinesthetic exercises and thought experiments, to enlarge the photographic context and move beyond the journalistic approach to photography.
Jock Montgomery says, “Sean Kernan is extremely well-regarded in the world of photography, especially as a fine-artist. Every aspect of Sean’s work, from books to gallery shows, expresses a unique and compelling view. As a teacher, he pushes his students to abstract and impressive levels of creation.
