In-Pipe Technology Multiyear Contract with Oklahoma City for FOG Control
Wood Dale, Illinois (PRWEB) February 26, 2015 -- The initial In-Pipe sewer collection system FOG control contract with Oklahoma City started in March of 2012. Oklahoma City Line Maintenance identified 27 trouble locations that required flushing every 30-45 days prior to the FOG pilot program. Over the period of the FOG reduction treatment with In-Pipe, only one main needed additional flushing and cleaning. In addition, the Oklahoma City Wastewater Quality Division reported a reduction of usage of ferrous chloride at lift stations for odor control since the In-Pipe FOG treatment commenced, as well as reduced complaints of odor, and reduced man hours needed for lift station maintenance. Based on these results, and a competitive bid process, In-Pipe was awarded a new three year contract with two additional on-year renewal periods upon mutual consent.
“We are very pleased to be of continued service to Oklahoma City to treat the sewer collection system for FOG and odor problems” said John Williams, President & CEO. “Oklahoma City has been a delight to work with and we appreciate the confidence they have placed in us.”
In-Pipe’s patented technology includes regularly adding a high concentration formulation of facultative, naturally-occurring, non-pathogenic bacteria to strategic locations throughout the sewer system in accordance with an engineered plan. This entails zero capital cost and no additional energy requirement. Performance in the collection system provides increased capacity within the plant, forestalls costly upgrades, and extends the life of the existing infrastructure.
In-Pipe Technology offers specialized technical expertise, strong customer understanding, and deep resource knowledge. Since In-Pipe uses natural, biological methods that complement a treatment plant’s own processes, In-Pipe is a sustainable solution − environmentally and economically.
