"Our goal is to provide peace of mind your loved ones are A-OK," says John McCarley, founder of A-OK.

Even in today’s hyper-connected society, people are still lacking in communicating with some of the most important people in their life. With busy schedules filling up with travel, kids, college, work and everything in between, there is still a disconnect in letting those around them that all is well and they’re doing fine. A-OK, a subscription-only web app launching on March 2, 2015, takes the stress out of missed phone calls and tough schedules, helping people rest easy with automated check-ins.
Anyone with texting capabilities can use A-OK without being tracked by GPS. By signing up for an A-OK account online, subscribers may select the type of plan that is best for them and their loved ones. After verifying the information, A-OK offers a window of either 24 or 48 hours, where they will send the subscriber’s contacts a simple “text wave.” If after the allotted time is up, and they have not responded, A-OK will send an additional reminder. The subscriber will only be notified when their loved ones have not checked in. The end result? Users can rest easy with the peace of mind that all is A-OK with the special people in their life.
“A-OK came from the idea that many people are on-the-go, live alone, or are just too busy in life, therefore connecting with others becomes more challenging,” says John McCarley, founder of A-OK. “A-OK simplifies that process by doing the checking-in for you.”
