eCivis, the nation’s leading cloud-based grants management software system, today announced that two of its long-time clients will host trainings from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on the new Uniform Guidance affecting prime and sub-recipients of federal grants. The Cities of Los Angeles and Houston will host the sessions—set for March 11 and March 13, respectively—which will be led by OMB Senior Policy Analyst Victoria Collin, who has been responsible for building the coalition that developed OMB’s Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards.

“This training is a unique and affordable opportunity for organizations dealing with federal grants or contracts to engage with the OMB directly and get answers to their questions,” said eCivis CEO James Ha. “The Cities of Los Angeles and Houston were gracious enough to provide a venue to bring this important, expert training to key areas in the U.S. I attended Collin’s training this past November at the Maryland Governor’s Grants Conference, and she did an exceptional job of educating and engaging attendees on the new grant guidance.”

Collin will speak about the Uniform Guidance as it affects federal grantees and sub-grantees. The training will guide attendees through changes as they relate to:

  •     New emphasis on performance over compliance and administrative flexibility
  •     Implications for indirect costs
  •     Overview of federal and pass-through agencies’ responsibilities
  •     Reformed policies and procedures for enhanced internal controls
