Minority Businesses to be Honored by National Minority Business Council

Background: 35th Annual Awards Luncheon produced by the National Minority Business Council (http://www.nmbc.org), for 43-years dedicated to fostering the success of women and minority-owned businesses in the U.S. which account for nearly $30.2 billion in annual revenues, according to the most recent data compiled by the U.S. Census Bureau (2007).

Six minority-owned enterprises are being honored by NMBC:

PrintabiliTees, LLC, Stamford, CT, Jere C. Eaton, owner: Full service marketing, printing and promotional products company.

(Joint recipients) William J. Hunter Outstanding Minority Business Award, named in honor of deceased NMBC charter member, procurement specialist for NYU Medical Center, and serial entrepreneur.

Noviant, NYC, Kevin Wang, founder, president and CEO: IT services and solutions support company servicing small and mid-size organizations. Outstanding Technology Firm Award.

Sole Strivers Financial Fitness, LLC, NYC, Dionisia “Diony” Cespedes, founder: Financial coach and business strategist. Dena Coye Outstanding Woman Entrepreneurship Award, named in the memory of NMBC’s first associate (deceased).

Vera Moore Cosmetics, Plainview, NY, Vera Moore, founder: Pioneer in developing & retailing high-end cosmetics & grooming products for women & men of color, Outstanding Global Business Award.

Women Presidents’ Organization, NYC, Marsha Firestone, PhD, founder and president: Non-profit membership organization for women presidents of multimillion-dollar companies, devoted to accelerating the growth of their members’ businesses. Charles T. Haffey Community Service Award, named in honor of a former vice president of corporate purchasing for Pfizer Inc., early supporter and Executive Volunteer with NMBC.

Being recognized for their consistent engagement & otherwise support of M/WBE suppliers:
