One-day conference to focus on the plunging price of oil, trends, challenges and technological and design advancements in the offshore service industry

Industry insiders will discuss the future of the U.S. Gulf rig and offshore service vessel markets at the WorkBoat OSV Summit in Houston on April 2.

The agenda for the one-day Summit will feature several topics relevant to OSV operators, suppliers, builders and others. In the “What’s in Store for the Offshore and OSV Markets?” session, Richard Sanchez, marine market analyst with IHS Petrodata, and Allen Brooks, managing director of PPHB LP, will discuss the cyclical nature of offshore drilling in the U.S. Gulf, the oil service sector’s dependence on E&P activity and capex spending of oil and gas companies, and the effect on OSV and rig companies from increased oil production and soft oil prices.

Other topics featured in the one-day Summit include “Design Trends”, “Challenges & Opportunities in OSV Industry” and a Keynote Address by Dr. Kent Moors, executive chair of the Global Energy Symposium (GES). Moors is an internationally recognized expert in oil and gas policy/finance and risk assessment.
