Candy House Launches the World's First Instant Smart Lock
Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) March 03, 2015 -- Candy House launched a Kickstarter campaign for Sesame - the world's first instant smart lock - on Feb. 25, 2015. It met its funding goal of $100,000 in nine hours, and now has more than 3,000 backers supporting the project.
Sesame allows users to lock and unlock their doors using the app on their smartphones. It is the only smart lock that syncs the movement of the lock with the phone, providing exact control of the angle to which the lock turns.
Sesame is designed to be easy to install and work with almost any deadbolt in the world, though it is designed for locks in the US, Canada and Australia markets. Users can install it in seconds, without replacing the existing lock or removing anything. The app is available for Android and iOS devices.
The app works with Bluetooth technology to connect to the device, preventing you from getting locked out in the event of an internet outage.
Candy House also offers optional access point, which connects Sesame to the Internet when plugged into any nearby outlet. It lets users control Sesame wherever they are, allowing the user to unlock their door for guests from across town or double check that the door is secure from bed. To ensure safety, the Sesame app also send out a notification whenever the door opens or closes.
A new feature also lets users open Sesame with a custom knock on the phone or door, without pulling out their phones. This will also help prevent accidentally getting locked out of your home.
The app will be open source and all data will have military-grade encryption to help ensure the safety of the users.
The Kickstarter campaign will run until April 26th. There are several stretch goals yet to be unlocked – including extra batteries, a second cover color, voice recognition and more.
Currently the most basic reward level that includes the lock is $89 but there are only a limited number available at this price point. Retail price after the Kickstarter will be $149 without WiFi and $199 with WiFi.
