The app uses an unusual method for estimating circle dimensions. The calculator includes two keys for computing the properties of circles without the need for pi (π), the square root of 2 (√2), or other irrational numbers.
The two unique keys have been assigned letters from the Hebrew alphabet. Veit (ב) is operand 4.44444 when its key is pushed, while Tav (ת) is operand 1.11111. Both concepts, 4.44444 and 1.11111, are rational and end after five places.
Formulae for computing the circumference of a circle on this calculator are based on the placement of a circle within a square. Users can either multiply the perimeter of ANY shape by Tav or any line (one side of the square) by Veit. Both concepts, Veit and Tav, come to within .00035 accuracy of traditional pi.
The creator of Veit Calculator and the formulae, Malynda Lee, says that her original revelation occurred back in eighth grade, and her current work began in 2010. The four-page proof and complete 38-page paper is available at http://www.kfirenterprises.com.
