Colorado’s only Hilton dual-branded hotel, the Homewood Suites and Hampton Inn & Suites Denver Downtown Convention Center, recently collected gently used books and cash donations in support of Reach Out & Read Colorado, in the hotel’s first community service initiative of the year. The three week campaign resulted in 53 gently used books and $100 in cash donations, which will purchase 10 bundles of new books for the organization.

Reach Out & Read Colorado prepares the state’s youngest children to succeed in school by partnering with doctors to prescribe books and encourage families to read together. The Reach Out & Read program trains doctors and nurses to distribute books to children during pediatric checkups beginning from 6 months and continuing through five years of age, as well as advise parents about the importance of reading aloud to their children.
