The size of the facility enabled us to design an optimal floor plan so that both our metal and flexible lines can be produced simultaneously.
Wexford, PA (PRWEB) February 28, 2015
MHF Services (MHF), a longtime producer of specialty packaging for environmentally sensitive materials, has consolidated its flexible and metal packaging operations at its 192,000 square foot facility in Clinton, TN.
MHF’s popular flexible packaging line, including Super Load Wrappers™ for railcars and Lift Liners™ for radioactive and hazardous soil and debris, were formerly manufactured and distributed at its facility in Sweetwater, TN. MHF had operated the Sweetwater facility since 2001, producing thousands of liners and soft-sided packages for clients such as General Electric and MACTEC, among many others.
In late 2013, MHF acquired the assets of Bull Run Metal Fabricators and Engineers, Inc. (BRM)—now known as MHF Packaging Solutions, LLC—including the facility in Clinton, TN where specialty metal packaging is manufactured.
“In addition to expanding our packaging line, the acquisition presented us with the opportunity to streamline MHF operations in Tennessee,” said William L. Follett, MHF Vice President, who oversees metal and flexible packaging operations.
Last year, MHF business development and quality assurance staff formerly located in Oak Ridge, TN, relocated to Clinton, TN, and MHF began the process of transitioning the flexible packaging operations.
MHF also integrated the quality programs for all of its operations into an NQA-1 2008/2009-1a program, and the Clinton facility was successfully audited to that standard by the U.S. Department of Energy.
Follett said, “The size of the facility enabled us to design an optimal floor plan so that both our metal and flexible lines can be produced simultaneously. At the same time, all staff, including our management staff, are housed under one roof, which greatly enhances our efficiency.”
Currently, more than 50 production, warehouse, technical and administrative staff are consolidated at the Clinton facility. Follett said that he hopes the interface among staff members leads to even greater efficiencies and innovations.
