Goldfarb’s Vice Dean Appointed to the ANCC Board of Directors
St. Louis, Missouri (PRWEB) March 17, 2015 -- The American Nurses Association (ANA) recently appointed a prominent leader of the Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College to the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Michael D. Ward, PhD, RTR, FASRT, vice dean for student affairs and diversity and professor at Goldfarb School of Nursing, will serve as a public member on the ANCC Board of Directors.
“I am honored to serve as a public member on the ANCC board and contribute to the growth and advancement of their programs,” says Ward. “I look forward to sharing insights that come from years of experience in higher education, radiologic sciences and health care.”
The ANCC, a subsidiary of the ANA, is the world’s largest nursing credentialing organization. Programs that the ANCC oversees include: ANCC Accreditation Program, ANCC’s Certification Program, Pathway to Excellence® Program, Magnet Recognition Program®, ANCC Credentialing Knowledge Center™ and ISO.
“ANA values the time and commitment from talented volunteers like Dr. Ward,” says Pamela F. Cipriano, PhD, RN NEA-BC, FAAN, president of the ANA, the nation’s largest nurse organization representing the interests of the nation’s 3.1 million registered nurses. “His contributions will help strengthen the work of ANA on behalf of the nursing profession.”
Ward’s two-year term began on January 1, 2015.
