Next-Gen Infotainment Systems in Vehicles Will Be Focus of New SAE International Presentation
WARRENDALE, Pa. (PRWEB) March 03, 2015 -- The editors of SAE International present the latest technical presentation, “Next-Gen Infotainment and Interfaces.”
Part of SAE International’s Technical Webcast Series, this live, 60-minute editorial webcast will be held Tuesday, March 31 at 12 p.m. U.S. EDT. “Next-Gen Infotainment and Interfaces” is sponsored by Intertek.
Consumers increasingly expect robust connectivity options when they are inside of their vehicles, be it through dedicated infotainment and navigation systems, or via smartphones, apps, and other consumer devices brought into vehicles. Design teams know that enhanced infotainment capabilities – in addition to a well-designed human-machine interface (HMI) – can be a significant differentiator in the marketplace, while less-than-expected connectivity and a problematic HMI can become fodder for highly publicized criticism. Developers are leaving no stone unturned in their attempts to meet the vast differences in user preferences and technical skills. The need for multiple input devices is generally understood, as voice works best for some tasks, while conventional knobs and buttons still work well for others.
During this one-hour webcast hosted by SAE International’s Automotive Engineering magazine, industry experts will discuss the latest in next-generation infotainment systems, HMI advances that improve the user experience and enhance safety, and challenges to implementing advanced systems, as well as what capabilities can be expected in the years ahead. Webcast attendees will be invited to interact with the experts during the Q&A portion of the webcast.
Webcast attendees will be invited to interact with the experts during a Q&A session.
Speakers will include:
- Walter Sullivan, Head of Silicon Valley Innovation Lab, Elektrobit Automotive
- Justin Moon, Global Technologist, Business Development, QNX Software Systems
- Dr. Sandeep Sovani, Director, Global Automotive Industry, ANSYS Inc.
