Robins & Morton Celebrates Women In Construction
Birmingham, Alabama - In conjunction with Women in Construction Week (March 1-7, sponsored by the National Association of Women in Construction, or NAWIC) and National Women’s History Month, Robins & Morton is recognizing several women whose contributions and commitment positively affect the company and the construction industry as a whole. From the craft professionals, to the management team, to the dozens of roles in between, each woman has a story to share.
Women in Construction week highlights women and their influence in the construction industry, and is an effort to bring awareness to the opportunities available and their growing role.
As a way to celebrate women within the company and industry, Robins & Morton will feature several individuals’ stories on their website throughout the month of March. About National Association of Women In Construction
The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) originally began as Women in Construction of Fort Worth, Texas. Sixteen women working in the construction industry founded it in 1953. Knowing that women represented only a small fraction of the construction industry, the founders organized NAWIC to create a support network. Women in Construction of Fort Worth was so successful that it gained its national charter in 1955 and became the National Association of Women in Construction. Today, NAWIC provides its members with opportunities for professional development, education, networking, leadership training, public service and more.
