North37 Design’s High-End French Sailbags Are Now Available to the US Market
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 07, 2015 -- North37 Design announced today that they are introducing to the US market their one-of-a-kind, sustainable, and stylish bags that are handmade in France from used sailcloth. The team is very excited to showcase two carefully curated upmarket French brands that share an affinity for producing collections that reflect the highest standards of quality and progressive design.
As native French citizens living in San Francisco, Elise and Guillaume Fournier Montgieux (North37 Design co-founders) have a strong sense of chic simplicity, which comes naturally from their French upbringing. They enjoy mixing all things French with the laid-back Californian lifestyle. Joining the North37 Design story is Lia Cicuto, a native Californian from the Bay Area. She also has European roots with both parents hailing from Northern Italy. Her heritage has helped Lia gain a deep appreciation for hand-crafted, well-made, and eco-friendly products.
“I was so impressed with the quality and chic simplicity of those sailbags,” said co-founder Elise Fournier Montgieux, “They are great for the California casual cool and minimalist lifestyle, and it’s eco-friendly … what a match!”
The first line provides an authenticity label inside each bag explaining its particular pedigree: the designer’s name, the type of sail it was cut from, the type of boat it once graced, where it sailed, and if applicable the regatta it was used in. The most prestigious is the limited-edition bag, which was named the Flying Edition. It was made from the regatta that took place two years ago in San Francisco with 72’ foiling catamarans. Making this a special opportunity to own a piece of sailing history, and a beautiful one at that, as the black carbon-fiber sails catch the light in a very special way.
The second line, imported by North37 Design, features a captivating whimsical elegance. Through the inclusion of nautical components, such as the hardware that is found on the boat to create this look. It has a more vintage and rustic elegance about it than the first line.
Over the last year, North37 Design have been presenting their products in Fashion and Boat shows and got them carried in some partner boutiques and online. On March 19th, their bags will be on the runway at Pascaline Paris in San Francisco. To follow up this success, North37 Design is now looking to go nationwide. “All people wanting to join the adventure, to bring some new ideas and distribution opportunities, or simply to help to spread the word, are more than welcome to contact us,” said Guillaume Fournier Montgieux.
