Coated Fabrics for Sealing and Insulation: Elasto Proxy Announces Article and Video
(PRWEB) March 03, 2015 -- Elasto Proxy, global supplier of specialty seals and custom insulation, is announcing an on-line article called Coated Fabrics for Sealing and Insulation: Dessert Is Served.
Readers are invited to learn how coated fabrics are made, how they’re used, and what ice cream can teach us about these specialty fabrics. Elasto Proxy has also released a short video about coated fabrics.
Industrial Fabrics and Composite Materials
Coated fabrics consist of woven or non-woven cloth with a coating or resin that’s either applied to the surface, or saturated into the bulk of the material to impart a desired property such as water repellency, fire resistance, noise dampening, or thermal insulation.
A polymer or elastomer, usually in a viscous or syrup-like form, is then applied to the fabric and cured to produce a harder, tougher, or more stable material with the desired properties.
Custom-Fabricated Seals and Insulation
As a custom fabricator, Elasto Proxy uses coated fabrics to build sandwich-like structures with foams and adhesives for sealing and insulation.
