“[Kindkudos] is quick and easy, which is especially helpful when you don’t have time for a long phone call but want someone to know you’re thinking of them.”

Kindkudos, a new, free, and easy-to-use messaging app has just been released and is now available for the Apple iPhone. Kindkudos allows people to share and spread love, kindness and gratitude.
“It’s like keeping a whole lot of love in your phone,” said Bryony Schwan, founder and CEO of Kind Kudos Inc. “Instead of saving letters and cards in a shoebox … or worse, in your email box … you can take your phone out and retrieve kudos any time you want a pick-me-up. The messages you really care about are all in one place, ready to bring a smile, laugh or tear again and again.”
Kindkudos users can quickly and easily record and send a video, voice or text message, and add a photo if they want. The kudo is meant to lift someone’s spirits and have them feel your support. Messages are archived and can be replayed whenever someone needs a boost. According to Dr. Rick Hanson, a neuropsychologist at UC Berkeley, “Studies show that feeling cared about by others helps us be empathetic, compassionate, and kind ourselves.”
The app also has a “pay-it-forward” prompt to encourage users to reach out and be kind to others. A kindness tracker map even shows users where and how many times their kindness has spread. Schwan said she hopes one kudo begets another so that people everywhere feel more connected and supported.
“What makes Kindkudos different,” says Schwan, “is that messages are private, personal and authentic. It’s also quick and easy, which is especially helpful when you don’t have time for a long phone call but want someone to know you’re thinking of them.”
Schwan cited her sister as inspiration. “She lives in England and often feels isolated,” said Schwan, “but the time difference and our schedules mean we can’t always talk. I wanted an easier and more frequent way to let her know I support, love and appreciate her.”
“I see this as an emotional helping hand,” said Schwan. “I figured if we made it easy for people to reach out, one-on-one, to their loved ones and send out positive messages, they would do it … and the world would be a better place.”
Kindkudos is now available as a free download in the Apple App Store.
