Allied American University’s Criminal Justice Department to Discuss Terrorism in a Live Webinar
Laguna Hills, CA (PRWEB) March 04, 2015 -- As a follow up to the first webinar on drug cartels and law enforcement, Allied American University (AAU) will hold its second complimentary, live webinar titled, “Terrorism: How It Has Changed Your Life,” on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 5:00 to 5:30 PM Pacific Time. The webinar will be hosted by AAU Criminal Justice Department professor, Alexandra Wilcox.
“We want the focus of our webinars to revolve around issues that are of major concern to our culture. Since the attacks on our country on 9/11, terrorism continues to be in the forefront in the minds of most Americans. Even with the government increasing security measures over the years, terrorism is still a hot-button issue and one of the challenges we continue to face daily,” says AAU Dean of Criminal Justice, Dr. Patricia Drown. “Professor Wilcox’s expertise will provide a greater understanding about the effect terrorism has on our everyday lives. Anyone who is studying criminal justice or has a general interest in this subject would benefit from attending the webinar.”
During the webinar, the following questions will be investigated:
• Do citizens still have the same privacy and rights?
• Should people pay attention to the media?
• Are airport measures going to get worse?
• Are these types of security measures helping the United States to achieve the goals of combating terrorism and preventing future attacks?
Professor Wilcox will also take a closer look at the Boston Marathon bombing and similar events that have changed the way people view their lives and liberties.
The webinar is open to current and potential students who are interested in learning more about this important topic. To register, visit the home page of Allied American University’s website at http://www.allied.edu. Pre-registration is encouraged.
