Tarsier Capital Management Launches; Deploys Suite of Tools to Help Investors Access Micro Cap Stocks
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) March 04, 2015 -- Today, Tarsier Capital Management (TCM), announced that it is opening its doors with the goal of connecting everyday investors with businesses on Main Street through targeted investments. TCM specializes in investments in the micro cap segment, under $500 million in market capitalization. Investments in these small companies are an underutilized tool that provides diversification benefits and has outperformed the broader market by over 3% annually since 1926.
“I am proud to launch Tarsier Capital Management, bringing a unique approach to investing and unlocking value for everyday investors by giving them access to an untapped segment. I have noticed a gap between everyday investors and the small companies that are not easily accessed by institutions. At TCM we seek to bridge that gap.
“We have a two pronged approach to investing, our Micro Cap Strategies and our Large Cap Insider Buying Strategy. Through these strategies we seek to achieve positive outcomes for investors looking to diversify their portfolio beyond the capability of ordinary investing vehicles.”
Micro Cap Strategies:
TCM believes that the micro cap segment contains market inefficiencies that can be capitalized on through due diligence and increased access to company management. TCM makes investments based on a three-stage due diligence process: opportunity identification, meeting company management, and evaluation of ongoing company performance.
1) The Tarsier Guardian strategy looks for hidden gems in the micro cap space that trade at a deep discount. TCM targets a correlation of less tan 50% with large cap securities to provide diversification for clients. The goal is to beat market indices while providing capital preservation protection.
2) The Tarsier Cobalt strategy seeks to invest in companies that are growing quickly and that have not yet been discovered. TCM looks for undervalued companies in industries with positive market trends. A stock must be capable of doubling in value over a 3-year period to meet our buying criteria. The goal is to significantly outperform market indices over a full market cycle.
Insider Buying Strategy:
1) The Tarsier Insider Buying Strategy is simple, but effective. All executives at firms that are regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) are legally required to file a Form 4 listing their purchases and sales within two days following any transaction. Because corporate insiders know their companies better than anyone else, they have a huge trading advantage. Peter Lynch explains, “Insiders might sell their shares for any number of reasons, but they buy them for only one: they think the price will rise.” Our insider buying strategy involves carefully monitoring these SEC filings to find the best opportunities to buy.
