C.L. Mike Schmidt Named "Legend In Trial Law" by Dallas Bar Association
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) March 05, 2015 -- What makes a legend? In the case of renowned Dallas trial lawyer C.L. Mike Schmidt, it’s almost 50 years of exceptional courtroom performance, championing big causes and underdogs alike with the same extraordinary passion. For his five decades of brilliant service, the Dallas Bar Association has named Schmidt a Legend in Trial Law.
Schmidt will be honored at a luncheon on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 12 noon at the Belo Mansion on Ross Avenue. Other award nominees for this year are Bob Vial, Deborah Hankinson and Dick Bernays (posthumously).
Past award winners include such notable lawyers as Blackie Holmes, Frank Branson, and Windle Turley.
From his humble West Texas roots, Schmidt graduated SMU Law School in May, 1965 and went on to build a career and a law firm that are national in scope. Known for his quick wit, tenacious work ethic, and devotion to his clients, Schmidt leads a firm of outstanding litigators with expertise in a wide variety of legal specialties: pharmaceutical litigation, wrongful death actions, and trucking litigation. And in an age when many trial lawyers rarely see a courtroom, Schmidt has tried literally hundreds of cases with an astonishing success rate.

Mike Schmidt has received a long list of honors over his career. He has been AV Rated by Martindale Hubbell for over 30 years receiving the highest possible rating for legal ability and ethical standards from the Bar Registry of Preeminent Lawyers. He has been a Fellow with the International Society of Barristers since 1998; a Fellow with the International Academy of Trial Lawyers since 1994; a Fellow with the American College of Trial Lawyers since 2001; one of the “Best Lawyers in America” for 25 years and selected by his peers to be included in the 20th Edition of The Best Lawyers in America for work in the practice areas of Mass Tort Litigation/Class Action – Plaintiffs and Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs.
There are more than 95,000 members of the Texas Bar Association, but only five percent are named “Texas Super Lawyers” by Texas Monthly magazine. Schmidt has won this accolade as well as “Top 100 Trial Lawyers in America” and “Best Lawyers in Dallas” by D Magazine.
Mike Schmidt is managing partner of The Schmidt Firm, PLLC in Dallas and is a partner in the Schmidt & Clark LLP law firm. He is Board Certified in Civil and Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Board Certified as Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, a Member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), and a Diplomate of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) since 1983.
Schmidt is married to the renowned sculptor Glenna Goodacre. The couple splits their time between their homes in Dallas and Santa Fe, NM.
