EMVIO Stress-Measuring Watch to Launch on Kickstarter
Moscow, Russia (PRWEB) March 09, 2015 -- Darta Systems, a start-up based in Moscow, announced that they will launch their Kickstarter campaign for the EMVIO watch on March 17, 2015. EMVIO is the world’s first stress-tracking watch that is backed by several years of research and trials, and the team behind it can boast an actual working prototype. The Kickstarter campaign will take place in conjunction with their Ottawa office, and their ultimate goal is to raise $250,000 CAD that will go towards full-scale production. The EMVIO launch reflects the growing popularity of bringing cutting-edge medical technology out of the labs and into people’s homes.
CEO and co-founder Valery Kuryshev had this to say about how the EMVIO watch combats stress: "If you've got a heavy workload, constant competition, and a personal life on top of that, one key to combating stress is to pay attention to the physical signs: clenched jaws, elevated heart rate, neck tension. But it’s difficult to do while you’re in emotional turmoil. Stress tracking tools like our EMVIO make this awareness possible. Being mindful of your stress reactions in the heat of the moment goes a long way to boosting productivity, work satisfaction, and your relationships. I’m very excited about sharing this tool and helping people improve their quality of life."
EMVIO works by measuring heart rate variability (HRV), which has become an essential metric in the Quantified Self movement. The software contained in the watch runs these measurements through a patented algorithm and gives the user a constant stress measurement on a scale from 0 to 10. EMVIO’s key selling points include:
The EMVIO app offers stress management tips and encourage users to record their experiences, so they can use their personal data to find out what their stress triggers are.
The team at Darta Systems has been working on the biosensors for the last two years because continual, accurate measurement is so essential for the product’s value. These biosensors are in essence similar to those that were reportedly dropped from the upcoming Apple Watch design.
EMVIO has both men’s and women’s designs, conceived by Italian firm Simplicity Design. There is also a choice of band material and several colors, which can be worn in the office, gym, or nights out.
For the earliest Kickstarter backers, EMVIOs will be available for $162 CAD ($129 US).
