"The Smart Industry Conference and Expo will provide a valuable venue for companies to share best practices and learn how to make use of the applications and infrastructure technologies that can transform their businesses." - William Ruh, GE

The Smart Industry Conference & Expo has announced William Ruh, Vice President of GE Software, as the opening keynote for the 2015 event, taking place on October 6-8, 2015 at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel in Chicago, Illinois.

The first of its kind, Smart Industry will offer a three-day event that will focus on the change in processes and technologies as the ‘Internet of Things’ continues to penetrate the industrial space. Smart Industry is where industry professionals will be able to connect with the companies and individuals utilizing the Industrial Internet via interactive exhibits, testbeds, and demonstrations, as well as through expert-led content sessions.

In his keynote, "The Industrial Strength Internet," William Ruh will discuss the notion of the Industrial Internet, emerging waves of industrial-strength innovation and technology, opportunities for big gains in productivity and efficiency by reducing unplanned downtime, and GE's strategic decision to focus on software and analytic-based services.

Smart Industry attendees will learn the value that IIoT technologies can offer to manufacturers, with real-life information on the increased productivity, improved efficiency, ROI, and decision support experienced by peers. Other hot topics that will be covered include new business models, workforce alignment, cyber security, Big Data, and predictive analytics.

"General Electric is proud to be an early adopter and proponent of the Industrial Internet." says William Ruh. “Now, with the Industrial Internet, we can put sensors and other advanced instrumentation in an array of machines or factories, from the simple to the highly complex, to collect and analyze vast amounts of data in real time to get insights to do things we could never see before. The Smart Industry Conference and Expo will provide a valuable venue for companies to share best practices and learn how to make use of the applications and infrastructure technologies that can transform their businesses."
