With Homeowners Concerned About Formaldehyde, Cali Bamboo Puts Safety Above Bottom Line

Results from formaldehyde emissions testing show that several of their floors register concentration levels as “Not Detectable”, or formaldehyde-free.

High levels of formaldehyde, a naturally occurring chemical, are known to cause serious health problems including cancer. In order to register as “Not Detectable”, BMH requires formaldehyde concentration levels to be less than 0.000 parts per million (PPM). While many of Cali Bamboo’s floors registered as “Not Detectable”, even the floors with detectable levels measured 50 times lower than the strictest California Air Resources Board (CARB) Phase 2 standards (0.05 PPM). In fact, test results show that all Cali Bamboo flooring formaldehyde levels were at least half the amount found in typical metropolitan air (0.02 PPM).
