The Green Grid® Liquid Cooling Work Group Elects CoolIT Systems CEO/CTO Geoff Lyon as Chair
Calgary, AB. (PRWEB) March 09, 2015 -- Geoff Lyon, CEO/CTO at CoolIT Systems, the world leader in Direct Contact Liquid Cooling, today was elected by popular vote as Chair of The Green Grid®’s Liquid Cooling Work Group, and the Board of Directors has ratified the election.
The Green Grid® Association, the global authority on effective and accountable resource efficiency across the entire information and communications technology (ICT) ecosystem, has established the Liquid Cooling Work Group within its Technical Committee to provide a forum to push the best practice for liquid cooling implementations.
The Liquid Cooling Work Group will focus on all aspects of the data center that are impacted by liquid cooling, including facility planning, water quality best practices, management interface between data centers and liquid cooling solutions, and other areas that will help de-mystify liquid cooling. The Green Grid® is also expected to help with the process of developing standards for liquid cooling.
“I am passionate about the value that liquid cooling applications have to offer and I’m excited to help facilitate The Green Grid initiatives for this distinguished group,” said Geoff Lyon. “Liquid cooling technology is gaining tremendous momentum and being considered by an increasing number of installations. We need to leverage our collective knowledge to ensure that datacenter decision makers have a responsible non-partisan resource to lean on for technical guidance.”
