Bethesda, MD (PRWEB) March 06, 2015
CME Outfitters (CMEO), a leading accredited provider in continuing medical education, announces its upcoming Live and On Demand activity, Novel Treatment of Inflammatory Bowel Disease Informed by Science and Patient Choice. The live program will launch on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 12:00pm ET. Faculty experts Russell D. Cohen, MD, FACG, AGAF, Gary L. Lichtenstein, MD, FACP, FACG, AGAF, and Miguel Regueiro, MD, AGAF, FACG, FACP will lead an interactive one-hour discussion that will provide needed education about the evolving science of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) to inform and improve treatment selection, manage side effects, and personalize the clinical approach to care. Gastroenterologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, and other health care professionals who manage and counsel patients with IBD are encouraged to register.
CMEO’s Live and On Demand format is an online and mobile 90-minute, live, panel discussion that offers cutting-edge insights from national experts in IBD. This live interactive broadcast is a key differentiator and unique to CMEO online activities. Clinicians will have the opportunity to engage in real time with faculty and with peers through Q&A and Twitter. Included in the 90-minute activity is a special 30-minute Q&A segment designed to provide learners time to ask additional questions, interact with the experts, and share challenges via phone, by using the Q&A widget on the web interface, email, or Twitter.
“We are so excited to share the Live and On Demand learning experience with gastroenterologists and clinical care providers in IBD,” said Jan Perez, CCMEP, CME Outfitters Managing Partner, “Not only is there an very apparent need to educate clinicians who manage patients with moderate-to-severe IBD about the immunopathophysiology of IBD and the latest available options to individualize IBD treatment, but we’re doing it in a way that allows clinical care providers to learn from some of the best in the field, and in a format that encourages a real faculty-to-learner collaboration where clinicians can ask about their toughest clinical cases and questions in up to six different ways – web interface, email, phone, Twitter, fax, or live on air.”
At the end of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Define the mechanism of disease of IBD and the role of lymphocyte trafficking in treatment choices.
- Describe available treatment paradigms and options for treatment failure with anti-TNF agents in moderate-to-severe IBD.
- Implement a novel treatment plan for IBD that considers the role of immunopathogenesis and mechanism of disease in patients with moderate-to-severe IBD.
This program will present a lively and interactive one-hour clinical discussion, following by 30 minutes of Q&A via telephone and/or web. Click here for more information about the faculty, financial support, credit information, disclosures, and to register.
