Today irth Solutions announced a new 5-year contract renewal to provide their SAGE811 software solutions to Sunshine 811. Sunshine 811 coordinates the “Call 811 before you dig” process between excavators and member utilities in the state of Florida. This new multi-year contract seeks to enable Sunshine 811 to offer continued services to their members, helping them to provide mark and locate services for underground lines, pipes, and cables anywhere in the state. The new agreement represents the fourth consecutive term for Sunshine 811 and irth Solutions, thereby sustaining a partnership formed over a decade ago.

“We’ve enjoyed a strong partnership with irth Solutions since 2002,” said Mark Sweet, Executive Director at Sunshine 811. “With SAGE811, Sunshine 811 manages millions of tickets annually, thereby improving communications with all of our excavator partners, and ultimately improving public safety,” Sweet continued. Sunshine 811 is one of the largest damage prevention notification centers in the nation, receiving over one million notices of intended excavation and transmitting over eight million requests to locate and mark underground assets each year. 811 Notification Centers like Sunshine 811 are charged with ensuring the safety of the public and damage prevention related to underground product delivery systems like pipelines, grids, and cables. irth Solutions’ SAGE811 empowers 811 Notification Centers to create and manage excavation requests and features industry-leading ticket management capabilities through UtiliSphere. About Sunshine 811

Sunshine State One-Call of Florida, Inc. (d/b/a Sunshine 811) is the not-for-profit corporation created by the State of Florida in 1993 to administer the Underground Facility Damage Prevention and Safety Act, Chapter 556, Florida Statutes. This law was enacted to protect Florida’s vital underground facility infrastructure (electric, gas, communications, water and sewer lines) by providing a toll-free number (811) for anyone to call two full business days before excavating (ten full business days if underwater) so that the location of underground facilities in the area of the proposed excavation project can be visibly marked with paint, stakes, flags (or buoys) to prevent accidental damage to them and injury to excavators and the public.
