Golden View Classical Academy Announces New Principal
Golden, Colorado (PRWEB) March 08, 2015 -- Golden View Classical Academy, a K-12 charter school opening up in Golden this fall, is pleased to announce its new principal, Dr. Robert Garrow. Dr. Garrow is currently the Assistant Headmaster at Founders Classical Academy in Leander, Texas, a sister school of Golden View Classical Academy through the Hillsdale College Barney Charter School Initiative.
Dr. Garrow is returning to Colorado, where he was born and raised, having earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He earned his PhD in political philosophy and American politics from Claremont Graduate University. Garrow has also taught at the graduate and undergraduate levels at other schools including American University in Washington, DC.
“We are honored to have a school leader of Dr Garrow’s caliber here at Golden View Classical Academy,” said Derec Shuler, the Founder and Board Chairman of Golden View Classical. “Dr. Garrow brings a strong background and a keen understanding of the higher purpose of classical education in addition to his current experience as a leader at a classical school.”
On accepting the position, Dr Garrow said, “I am honored to serve as the first Principal of Golden View Classical Academy. The school’s Board has laid a solid foundation for what promises to be an excellent school. I look forward to making good on that promise, along with the committed students and families that will be part of this exciting academic community. Golden View Classical Academy is positioned to replicate the success of other classical schools in Colorado, including Ridgeview Classical and Liberty Common Schools.”
ColoradoSchoolGrades.com recently released a report ranking four classical charter schools among the Top 5 high schools in the state of Colorado, demonstrating the success of this academic model.
Dr Garrow is an advocate for classical education, stating, “Classical education stirs our souls and elevates our minds, by opening us up to the richness of our historical inheritance and by flaming our curiosity. It prepares us for a life of noble pleasures, of adventurous thinking, of laughter, and of deep, lasting relationships with our friends, family, and fellow citizens. This comprehensive scope includes nothing less than the happiness of our children and the success of the American republic, and is what draws so many families to schools like Golden View Classical Academy.”
Golden View Classical Academy is now accepting applications for grades kindergarten through 10 for classes starting this fall of 2015. The Academy will be located in south Golden at 601 Corporate Circle, with easy access from I-70, C-470, and US Highway 6.
