New author Oscar Allueva looks set to emerge as a new player in the crime fiction arena. A lawyer by profession, he has encapsulated on his years of experience within the legal industry, creating a multifarious plot that is filled with a myriad of complex twists and turns.
The Blood Libel has a vast array of sub-layers all enticing the reader to follow the trail and to uncover the truth. The clues are all embedded within as the dangerous search places protagonist Michael Garcia in the midst of a legal minefield and a race against time.

The Blood Libel takes a stark look at injustice and fixates upon Garcia’s principled approach to the truth while unraveling a cold case, where his father’s family friend had been tried and convicted of murdering his two adopted sons. Disbelief rippled through a tight-knit community, fracturing people’s loyalties and dividing a community forever but now, new evidence comes to light as the records are utilized to further criminal forensics. Garcia, needing to find his niche in a legal environment in which he no longer has faith, takes up the mantle determined to investigate the complicated evidence before it is destroyed but his search reveals some surprising answers. The journey towards the truth becomes a very dangerous one.
This novel is a fine blend of legal jargon wrapped up in a dramatically enticing story. The characters are credible, emotive and drive the story forward keeping the reader on the edges of their seats. From the opening sentence to the very last word, this is a gritty and dramatic storyline that will grip those who enjoy a solid crime fiction story.
Allueva lives in Vancouver and is currently hard at work on his next legal crime novel, Witness Bearer, about the bankruptcy of a missing private investigator whose search leads Garcia to uncover a sinister plot involving decades old bearer bonds worth millions of dollars and the crimes committed to conceal their true owners.
