DeskAlerts Announced Updates for Easy Mobile Apps Download
(PRWEB) March 10, 2015 -- The internal communications solution DeskAlerts continues to lead the pack when it comes to facilitating mobile adoption following a series of upgrades and improvements to its Android and iOS mobile applications.
According to the latest Cisco Visual Networking Index: Global Mobile Data Traffic Forecast Update 2014–2019 White Paper, the mobile revolution is growing at an unprecedented pace. Highlights from the paper show that more people are carrying out their work and communications on a mobile device than ever before. Staggering statistics include a 69% growth in global mobile data traffic recorded in 2014. Data traffic from mobile was also calculated at 30 times the size of the entire global internet in 2000. What’s more, a colossal 497 million – or almost one half billion – new devices and mobile connections joined existing mobile traffic in 2014. The average smartphone use also grew by almost half (45%) in 2014 in comparison with the previous year, demonstrating just how much more regularly the global population is turning to a mobile device over a desktop computer.
Anton Vdovin, DeskAlerts Project Manager said, “The White Paper figures are astounding in terms of volumes of mobile usage but show without a shadow of a doubt that we are increasingly relying on mobile devices to get things done. In this climate of mobile dependence, it’s more critical than ever to offer our clients trusted, robust and high performing mobile apps that make internal business communications easy from any location.
“It’s our mission to make internal communications from a mobile second nature and we’re committed to a program of continuous refinement. As part of this process we will continue to roll out new versions of our iOS and Android apps and introduce intuitive and innovative new ways of enabling our customers to access the full benefits of DeskAlerts from any style of mobile device.”
The newly added QR code is one such example of helping customers to augment their communications policy by using DeskAlerts mobile apps. The code appears on the DeskAlerts online demo for users trying out DeskAlerts and browsing its features for the first time. By scanning the QR code with their mobile device, customers can quickly and easily download the latest version of the DeskAlerts mobile app from either the App Store or Google Play.
Vdovin added, “People who play with our online demo can scan the QR code with their mobile device and install DeskAlerts Mobile app (for Android or iOS) without any problems.”
Available for both Apple and Android devices, the DeskAlerts mobile apps are ideal for those organizations with BOYD (Bring Your Own Device) policies. The apps replicate much of the functionality and capability of the DeskAlerts standard service. Key benefits include the ability to send surveys and quizzes directly to contacts with tablet or smartphone devices within the organization’s network. The app can be branded with the company’s own logo and colors, creating a company identity similar to that offered by desktop version’s custom skin optional.
The enterprise messaging system’s mobile app also offers powerful messaging capabilities for sending important updates and notifications to employees on the go or working away from the office. Communicators using the iOS or Android app to send messages can include URLs for chosen recipients, so the mobile-based content is interactive and engaging.
Vdovin adds, “Our mobile apps offer a smooth and streamlined experience which closely replicates the desktop version of DeskAlerts. We recognize and embrace the importance of mobile and expect our mobile apps to play an increasingly important role in 2015.”
