Minority-owned chemical management service provider recognized as top global supplier

As an addition to their outstanding track record, Michigan-based chemical management service provider ChemicoMays LLC (Chemico) has been awarded by General Motors (GM) with its Supplier of the Year award for the sixth consecutive time. GM hosted their 23rd annual Supplier of the Year ceremony on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the newly renovated Cobo Convention Center. Chemico CEO Leon C. Richardson and Vice Presidents Harry Seifert and Dave MacLeod accepted the award on behalf of the Chemico Group.

“We are so honored to be recognized once again by such an outstanding company as General Motors. This recognition highlights that our organization is operating at the optimal level and demonstrating value for our customers and partners,” said Richardson.

Chemico was recognized along with 77 other award recipients as a preeminent global supplier by GM. Award recipients were selected by a global team of GM executives for exceeding the automaker’s requirements to provide customers with the most innovative technologies and the highest quality vehicles in the automotive industries.

“These companies are the best-of-the-best suppliers, and deserving of special recognition for their outstanding contributions,” said Steve Kiefer, GM vice president, global purchasing and supply chain. “We need them to continue to bring us their most innovative technologies and highest quality services and work, and we will continue to win together for the benefit of our customers.”
