WilGrip wins OHS Canada’s Readers Choice Awards Best Overall Product
Calgary, Alberta (PRWEB) March 10, 2015 -- Calgary-based start-up company WilGrip is proud to announce their recognition by OHS Canada in the 2014 Readers Choice Awards. Since launching in the Spring of 2014, WilGrip has continued to receive accreditation acknowledgement from the safety community.
Devon Wilson, CEO of WilGrip, says “We are extremely thrilled to win this award as it means the readers of OHS Canada agree reducing ergonomic injuries, and therefore lost time claims, is of utmost importance.”
WilGrip is used to reduce the strain and sprain on hands, wrists and arms, by providing a larger, more secure area for the hand to rest. In Alberta alone, between 2008 - 2013, more than 12,000 workers in the construction reported a hand or wrist injury, which resulted in a direct cost of more than $81,000,000 dollars lost by employers.
Conditions like Stenosing Tenosynovitis (Trigger Finger), Tendonitis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and generalized muscle soreness are common with the repetitive motion of carrying heavy concrete or aggregate buckets, as well as water, grout, epoxy, mortar, and many others.
Building on top of this award, WilGrip recently completed ergonomics testing with US Ergonomics, who are one of the leaders in expert ergonomic consulting. US Ergonomics tested and certified that WilGrip is proven to reduce the likelihood of hand and wrist injuries.
Among the results of the test, WilGrip was found to reduce contact stress by an astonishing 208.5%. This included a 90% increase in finger comfort, compared to the generic wire bail handle.
