Atlanta, Georgia. (PRWEB) March 13, 2015 -- The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) Smart Energy Society and the Southeastern Energy Society will host a special lunch meeting on March 16 from 11:30am-1:30pm at Alston & Bird office building. The lunch event offers attendees the opportunity to hear from William Houser, Senior Project Manager for solar at Georgia Power.
The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) is the Nation’s Largest Energy User. In recent years, the Department of Defense (DoD) has launched several initiatives to reduce its fossil fuel use by improving energy efficiency and shifting to renewable energy such as biomass, hydropower, geothermal, wind, and solar to meet operational and installation needs.
Nationwide, DoD projects to conserve energy more than doubled from fiscal year 2010 to fiscal year 2012, from 630 to 1,339, according to a recent report from the Pew Charitable Trusts, "Power Surge." The number of renewable energy projects increased from 454 to 700 during the same period.
William Houser will present an overview of several DoD projects located in Georgia that are related to this effort.
