“Not only is our Foam Gap Seal a high-quality and affordable solution, it has a very strong, long-lasting adhesive, is flame retardant and available in several sizes”, says co-founder Rick Berendes.

Data Center Resources, LLC, a leading supplier of products and services related to data center power, cooling and monitoring, announces the Foam Gap Seal as part of their Cool Shield aisle containment accessories. The expanding foam strips fill gaps to prevent mixing supply and exhaust air. Filling the smallest gaps is critical in IT spaces to reduce air bypass within and around the server cabinet.

“Customers require easy-to-install solutions to fill gaps in and around data center cabinet rows, below server cabinets, above containment panels or anywhere there is unwanted air leakage,” says Data Center Resources co-founder, Rick Berendes. “Our product is pre-compressed to slowly expand until the gap is fully sealed, greatly reducing storage and shipping costs”.

DCR’s Foam Gap Seal and other cooling accessories minimize costly bypass airflow and maximize the capacity and efficiency from HVAC equipment. Bypass airflow is any supply air from cooling units that is not drawn into the server intake where it was intended to go. This bypass air goes through gaps such as opens spaces in and around server cabinets. Not only is this wasting conditioned air but it can also effectively reduce the temperature of the return air to the cooling units. Cooler return air actually reduces the capacity of cooling units. Minimizing this bypass can reduce energy costs of cooling the data center by 20% or more.

The time-release expansion allows easy product installation without disturbing cables or other critical items within the data center and will conform around cables or other non-uniform spaces when completely expanded. The self-expanding foam tape is safe for the data center and ensures a durable secure seal between racks/enclosures and HAC systems.

“Not only is our Foam Gap Seal a high-quality and affordable solution, it has a very strong, long-lasting adhesive, is flame retardant and available in several sizes”, says Berendes. DCR’s Cool Shield Expanding Foam Gap Seal is inventoried and can often ship the same day. Please contact Data Center Resources for product details and pricing.
