Institute of Finance and Management Brings O2C and P2P Leadership Symposium to India
Portland, Maine (PRWEB) March 11, 2015 -- Executives and thought leaders from the Institute of Finance and Management (IOFM) recently returned from a four-city tour of India for an O2C and P2P Leadership Symposium. Four events were held in Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore during the last week of February 2015. The events were attended by nearly 100 AP, AR and Shared Services Leaders and professionals representing organizations including Maersk, IBM, Xerox, TCS, United Health, Thomson Reuters and many more.
In an increasingly global economy, communication and training become critical. The IOFM Leadership Symposia were held to highlight key metrics, strategies and process improvements for BPOs, Corporate Captives, and Global Business Service centers. The most resonant message was the importance of investing in human capital; the need for reliable, consistent training and certification programs was noted in all four cities by professionals from organizations of all structures. Attendees also noted the need for accurate metrics and global best practices to support strategic process improvement.
Presenting at the symposia were Judy Bicking, former Global Director of AP at Johnson & Johnson; David W. Hay, Former Director of Shared Services Outsourcing at Hewlett Packard; Susan Bova-Fasano, Global Business Process Services & Development Leader, IOFM; and Bill Springer, Executive Vice President at Diversified Communications (parent company of IOFM).
“First and foremost, meeting and engaging with our customers and newly minted ones in India was an incredible and memorable experience for us all,” says Ms. Bova-Fasano. “The information and knowledge exchange was a highlight of each Symposium, as well as being a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the current and future business needs of leadership running F&A business units in India and other geographies. We truly enjoyed our visits to each city and thank the Indian people for their kind hospitality and warm reception.”
While many attendees were learning about IOFM and its networks (The AP Network, The AR Network, and The Controllers Network), others have relied on its resources for years. GENPACT was featured as a leader in the area of human capital investment as a means to service improvement; more than 3,000 of GENPACT’s employees have earned AP and AR certification in the last five years.
“The AP & AR Certification programs and AP ProTrain have been implemented across GENPACT’s global locations for the last 5 years and continue today,” said Sonal Amin, Sr. Manager, Education@Work at GENPACT. “The APM, APS, ARM, ARS, as well as the beginner and manager AP ProTrain learning tool, ensure all of our F&A leaders, managers, staff and customer-facing employees are prepared, trained, and tested, to ensure impeccable service delivery, FTR, creating a zero-surprises environment to both our internal and external customers. The programs have shortened the New Hire learning curve with a deep reduction in time required to achieve readiness, a quicker integration into the businesses, as well as a global validation of the organization’s talent.”
The Institute of Finance and Management has certified well over 10,000 financial operations professionals. Certification and training programs are accessible online via a self-service learning management system, ideal for organizations with overseas operations.
