Citizens Memorial Healthcare Selects Summit Healthcare’s Web Services Adapter
Braintree, Massachusetts (PRWEB) March 11, 2015 -- In the past few years, Citizens Memorial Healthcare’s dedication to improving patient care and outcomes through technology has resulted in numerous milestones, including the hospital being named “Most Wired” and reaching HIMSS EMR Stage 7. Citizens Memorial selected Summit Healthcare Web Services Adapter to further enhance its interoperability strategy by ensuring fast, secure data exchange between disparate systems.
Citizens Memorial has used the Summit Express Connect interface engine for several years, enabling the hospital to replace a costly point to point integration strategy with a single integration platform. Summit Express Connect streamlines the development, deployment and management of a wide range of interfaces and integration projects. When Citizens Memorial’s IT team recognized the need to expand their web services integration capabilities, they again turned to their integration partner, Summit Healthcare.
“Every time we’ve faced an integration challenge, Summit Healthcare has risen to it,” said Sherry Montileone, Network and Support Manager. “We’re confident that their Web Services Adapter will improve our ability to exchange information with our state HIE directly supporting our goal to improve patient care.”
Until recently, Citizens Memorial was using a custom solution for uploading Public Health Syndromic and Immunization data to Missouri’s state health information exchange, MOHIE. Looking ahead to Electronic Lab and Cancer Registry reporting, migration to bi-directional Immunization reporting and EMR Meaningful Use Stage 3, Citizens Memorial realized that a more direct web services-based method was needed to satisfy current and future compliance standards.
The Summit Express Connect Web Services Adapter offers the capability to directly integrate the hospital’s Public Health and Immunization interfaces with the state’s system, using universal web protocols and data formats including SOAP, POST and HTTPS. This ensures that data is submitted between disparate systems securely and in real time via a standards-based web services approach.
“With all the disparate systems and feeds hospitals need to connect, we’re trying to provide as many integration options as possible,” said Summit Healthcare CEO Ted Rossi. “This flexible approach is helping longtime customers like Citizens Memorial adapt to the changing demands of HIEs and Meaningful Use.”
