Helix Education Webinar Explores Impact of Marketing on Improving Student Retention
Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) March 12, 2015 -- Helix Education, a world class provider of student life cycle technologies and services, is leading an upcoming webinar focused on the reciprocal roles of marketing and retention. Strategically working together, marketing and retention help institutions ensure that the right students are enrolling and progressing toward graduation. Registration is open for the webinar, which takes place on Tuesday, March 24th at 11:00 a.m. MDT.
"We have found that often there is a misconception in the industry that marketing strategies only occur during the enrollment process and retention strategies only occur during the learning process," said Sarah Horn, VP of Retention Services at Helix Education. "Rather, one doesn't necessarily pick up where the other one leaves off. Institutions can use the marketing process to collect the kind of data that will fuel long-term retention strategies, and then they can continue to reach out to students using targeted marketing communications throughout the educational journey, providing motivation and encouragement."
Helix Education's research concludes that retention actually starts at the point of recruitment. "How Does Marketing Impact Student Retention?" will help participants understand how to incorporate retention strategies into the enrollment marketing phase, and then ways they can continue to rely on marketing campaigns to connect with and support students.
Participants will learn how to match the right students with the right programs, increasing the likelihood that students will stay engaged and retained. They will also discover the data they should collect up front from students during the initial inquiry process so that they can deliver targeted, ongoing student support, setting the stage for a successful education experience from the very beginning.
Horn continued, "When you look at the data from the National Student Clearinghouse, over the past 20 years, more than 31 million students have enrolled in college, yet left before earning a degree. By collecting the right information and using it as the basis for outreach across the student life cycle, educators can help more students realize their educational goals."
