Increasing Capacity, Quality and Speed of Manufacturing Plastic Components

Visual Options, a Tacoma based plastic manufacturing company, recently added a wide format industrial laser to its equipment list. The laser can cut plastics up to one inch thick quickly and effectively thereby increasing quality, efficiency and capacity at the decade old company. Additionally the laser can cut steel and etch a variety of surfaces, including various plastics, metals, and hardwoods.

Competition to quickly produce high quality retail store displays with laser cuts, engraving and etching is becoming increasingly important as retailers attempt to grab the attention of consumers in retail environments.

“The laser allows us to complete customer orders much faster, so our existing clients are excited about that. Also, we are able to expand into new markets, as the demand for highly polished laser cut plastics is increasing all of the time, particularly in the retail display and signage industries,” said Bret Bowen, Owner of Visual Options.

A recent project with a national mobile phone and device retailer required the machining of 12,000 components for an interactive display that rolled out to 3000 locations. With only 3 weeks to complete the project, the laser was a key factor in the success of the retailer’s product launch.

Visual Options is a 10-year-old, Tacoma-based plastic manufacturing company. The company specializes in custom plastic fabrication and manufacturing. Their capabilities include industrial design and engineering, machining, vacuum forming, drape forming, CNC Routing, laser cutting and fabrication.
