U.S. Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship Names UNC Professor Ted Zoller as President
Chapel Hill, N.C. (PRWEB) March 13, 2015 -- The United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship® (USASBE) has named Ted Zoller as its president.
Zoller is director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies and Clinical Associate Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School.
“I couldn’t be more excited about Ted being elected,” said Patrick Snyder, executive director of USASBE. “He has risen through our board quickly and most recently served as senior vice president of finance on our executive committee. His amazing grasp of the budget and excellent soft skills make him the perfect person to lead our board. We are expecting great things from Ted.”
USASBE is the largest independent, professional academic organization in the world dedicated to advancing the discipline of entrepreneurship. It has over 1,000 members from universities and colleges, for-profit businesses, nonprofit organizations and the public sector. USASBE’s mission is to support the development of entrepreneurship educators, who will in turn create the next generation of entrepreneurs.
“I am honored to have been elected by my colleagues to serve in this important role for an organization dedicated to the advancement of the research and pedagogy of entrepreneurship in the United States, said Zoller. “The progressive leadership of USASBE demonstrates a commitment to best practices on the leading edge of our practice.”
Zoller oversees UNC Kenan-Flagler’s academic and outreach programs in entrepreneurship. He teaches new enterprise development, business models and early-stage venturing with a focus on developing entrepreneurial leaders and teams. His research focuses on the role and structure of entrepreneurial networks and the interrelationships with investor syndicates. Zoller is also a Senior Fellow at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
“This leadership opportunity will provide our team at the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies with critical insights about the leading practices of top universities throughout the U.S. and inform the development of our Learn-Launch-Lead model for developing breakthrough entrepreneurs at UNC Kenan-Flagler,” said Zoller. “I believe this role will contribute to meeting our goal to be the leading university entrepreneurship program in the U.S.”
