Adolfson & Peterson Construction Receives National Award from Associated Builders and Contractor
Richardson, TX (PRWEB) March 12, 2015 -- Adolfson & Peterson Construction (A&P) was recently awarded the Excellence in Construction Pyramid Award from ABC for work on the NBC Studios DFW Project in Ft. Worth. The Award was presented at the 25th Annual Excellence in Construction Awards Ceremony hosted by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
To qualify for the national award, A&P first had to be selected to receive the Distinguished Building Award from TEXO – the local branch of the ABC. TEXO’s Distinguished Building Award recognizes the best projects in Texas based on difficulty in construction, unusual construction techniques, final appearance and quality, timeliness of completion, and safety.
NBC Studios DFW includes a state-of-the-art 75,000-square-foot facility that serves as the home of KXAS NBC 5, KXTX Telemundo 39, NBC News DFW Bureau and other NBC Universal businesses. The multimedia studios feature a robust data center supporting leading-edge technologies enabling the studios to serve viewers through television, the internet, mobile and other platforms.
The NBC5 Studios project, a LEED Silver facility that was completed on a fast-track schedule in less than 12 months, was supported by a collaborative team approach between KDC, A&P, and Corgan Associates.
The Excellence in Construction Award honors the most innovative and high quality construction projects, safety programs and diversity programs in the nation. Projects are judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost.
A panel of industry experts served as the competition’s judges. This year's panel included representatives from the Design-Build Institute of America, Engineering News-Record, the American Institute of Architects, and the National Association of Women in Construction, and representatives from higher education, among others.
“Each year we are honored to recognize the very best construction projects the industry has to offer and this year’s winners’ commitment to quality and safety throughout the planning, execution and delivery of each of these projects is truly remarkable,” said ABC National Chair Pamela Volm.
From the thousands of projects completed across the country last year, only a handful were selected to receive the Excellence in Construction Award. According to ABC, only 49 Excellence in Construction Pyramid awards were presented at the ceremony.
A&P was selected to receive the Pyramid Award in the Commercial category ($10-25M), which includes office buildings, banks, retail facilities, hotels or mixed use buildings.
